Customer opinions are divided between the two-bed types. Understandably, both air beds and memory beds have pros and cons to consider before settling for one or the other. We’ve compiled the most notable pros and cons in an easy-to-read table.
Mattress Prices Comparison
Both air and memory foam mattresses can be considered expensive. The former varies between $800-2000, while the latter ranges between $800-3000, depending on the size, quality and brand.
Which Is Most Popular With Consumers
Hard to say. Many consumers love air beds because they can adjust their firmness, while memory foam mattresses are praised for their ability to contour to your body and change firmness in contact to body heat. Over the last 5 years though, visco foam has grown more and more popular with mattress specialists and consumers.

Customer Opinions
Others have said this, and I agree, that I just feel like I am floating in it. I toss and turn very little because all positions are extremely comfortable. No pressure points even when laying on my side (I am primarily a back sleeper). Often I wake up in the same spot and position that I went to sleep in. I sleep very soundly in this bed and wake-up very rested and refreshed almost every day.

For someone with allergies this is a fairly hypoallergenic mattress since it doesn’t have the usual materials used to fill the inside of conventional mattresses and thus should be less of a breeding ground for common allergens such as dust-mites.

When I laid on it, I couldn’t imagine anyone wanting memory foam. Once on it, I could barely move and turning over was a real challenge. I also could see how this could get very warm at night.

The other big issue: it’s almost impossible to sit upright on the bed for any length of time. I do a lot of work sitting cross-legged on my bed, because that happens to be how & where I am most comfortable, and with the Tempurpedic I just kept sliding down, down, down. Like I imagine being in quicksand would be.

When someone sits on the bed, the other side gets much firmer than it was. Then deflates again as soon as the weight is taken off. There is a hard bar down the middle of the bed that separates the two sides. If you like your bed hard you cannot feel it, but if you have it on a softer setting, be careful that you don’t roll over on it.
